Punta Gorda Airport is now the 11th busiest in the state of Florida, according to a report released yesterday by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Last year, more than 1.29 million passengers went through the airport- a nearly 16 percent increase from 2016.
The passenger increase pushed Punta Gorda ahead of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, which ranked as the 12th busiest airport in the state.
