A person was injured after what the sheriff’s office says is an apparent accidental shooting at a gun range in Nokomis earlier today. The initial call came in just after 11am at Knight Trail Park, a public shooting facility operated by Sarasota County with oversight by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Deputies say one person was injured and taken by ground transportation to the hospital under a trauma alert. The sheriff’s office says the incident remains under investigation. The county says the park is closed for the remainder of the day.
