There’s a workshop coming up in the new year for the public to weigh in on Sarasota County charging to park at Siesta Key beaches.
The county commission is expected to reach a decision sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
County officials say charging for parking would encourage carpooling, ridesharing, and free up parking spots.
At the workshop set for Feb 19, the commission is expected to consider paid parking, a potentiall toll to access Siesta Key, and other changes.
