City officials in North Port were hoping to have the new Braves Spring Training stadium open and ready to go for the start of the 2019 season…but now, that’s already been delayed. Mike Dunn, the team’s Director of Florida Operations said Wednesday the new hope is to open the stadium…with the last Spring Training game of 2019. Dunn said most of the underground work is done, and foundations are now being poured and dirt is being brought in to get the back fields elevated. There was no specific reason given for the delay in opening.
