At least one member of the Sarasota County School Board is on record as saying she does not want to see the county join forces with districts in Broward and St. Lucie to challenge a charter school bill signed into law by Gov. Rick Scott last month. Jane Goodwin told the South County Tiger Bay Club she rather work with the Legislature to change things next year. Partisan politics also appears to play a role, as Goodwin said ““I’d rather have a Democratic county sue than us, that’s just personal. We’re all Republicans and so I would get the door slammed in my face.”
