One person has died after a house fire in Venice Friday night. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, crews were called to a home in the 2600 block of Carmine Road. Multiple units from Nokomis and Venice Fire Departments responded. One unidentified person died in the house. Two deputies were taken to area hospitals after attempting to rescue the resident inside. The two deputied were released a few hours after being taken to an area hospital. They were treated for smoke inhalation and exposure to carbon monoxide.
