North Port Police have charged a caregiver with attempted murder.
They say fire rescue responded to White Ibis Drive for injuries to a 91-year-old man earlier this month, but detectives soon learned of inconsistences to how this man received these injuries.
Now police have arrested 45-year-old Elena Erickson, saying evidence shows she beat him in the head with a small oxygen tank.
Police believe Erickson left this man on the floor of his home to die. He has since returned home from a brief hospital stay.
Additionally, police have identified this man as a World War II veteran.
