The next few weeks should see the final parts of North Port’s plan for a new Atlanta Braves Spring Training complex come together. City and county officials are just waiting for final approval of a $20M state grant that will complete the funding. That grant has been in the works- at least in the discussion phase- since 2015. But even though the state received the grant application in mid-June, there’s no deadline on when the state must respond.
