A high school student in North Port is facing several charges after he brought a gun to campus Wednesday morning. Police say the student brought the gun and was showing it to other students. Around 9am, after morning assembly, three students came forward to tell administrators about the weapon. The school was placed on limited lockdown and student resource officers from North Port Police responded. The student was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Sarasota and is facing multiple charges.
