A phony call about a hostage situation led SWAT teams to burst into a North Port home on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for North Port police told ABC-7 they got a call that appeared to be from that home, claiming masked men had machine guns and hostages.
The “prank” is called swatting- where someone clones a phone number and reports a fake crime.
The FBI is now involved- they, along with North Port Police are working to track down the original caller… if they do, that person could be arrested.
