84 North Port police officers will be wearing body cameras when they go on duty starting this week.

Those wearing the cameras include everyone from those on patrol to school resource officers to those on the traffic unit.

The cameras came at a cost of around $750,000 and also include 152 new Tasers that automatically trigger the cameras when they’re pulled.

The cameras also automatically are turned on if and when an officer’s gun is taken out of its holster.
