The North Port Police Department arrested Dontae Lamar Stanley Jr 21-year-old for his role in the shooting death of 19-yr-old Trent Bartol-Thomas, also known as Trent Joseph. Stanley is listed as homeless and has been charged with the following:
-Homicide.
-Armed home invasion robbery.
-Two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
-Three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The shooting happened Wednesday, January 10th, 2017 when Stanley and possibly another man entered a home on Porto Chico Avenue. Police believe Stanley and Thomas knew each other prior to the crime.
