A missing, elderly woman was located safe, and sound after an off-duty officer with the North Port Police Department discovered her on Saturday morning. Joyce Jacobs had been reported missing around 1230 Saturday morning. The elderly woman suffers from dementia, diabetes and has a history of heart problems. Officer Charles Ayres was searching on his bike when he spotted Jacobs in a wooded area around 9am.
