North Port Man Wins $1 Million Mega Millions Prize From Publix
David Dowell, a 66-year-old resident of North Port, Florida, recently became a millionaire after winning the second-place prize in the Mega Millions lottery. Dowell purchased his winning ticket from a local Publix and claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery’s Ft. Myers District Office. Although he did not match the Mega Ball number, Dowell’s ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers, giving him odds of 1 in 12,607,306 to win the second-place prize. The odds of winning the jackpot, which Dowell did not win, are much lower at 1 in 302,575,350.
