A North Port man is dead after he was hit by a car as he was walking along Taylor Road in Punta Gorda. The crash happened around 11 Saturday night. The unidentified man was walking northbound, when a car also traveling north, hit him. Police say the impact threw the man into the windshield- he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.
