Authorities in Georgia have identified a man who crashed into a Georgia lake last weekend as 55 year old Tod Carell of North Port, Florida.
The plane had crashed into the lake in the early afternoon last Saturday, Sept. 10, but authorities were unable to get to the plane because it was 120-feet down, the deepest part of the Lake Hartwell in Georgia. Several witnesses reported the crash and marked the area where the plane went down. Diving rescue teams were able to confirm the pilot was still inside the plane.
Carrell is the Executive Vice President of Sales for Food Innovations, based out of Bonita Springs. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
