A North Port man has died after a single-car crash in Port Charlotte early on Wednesday morning. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, 25-year old Brian Otero lost control of his car while driving west on State Road 776 near State Road 771 around 2:30am. A crash reconstruction found his car changed lanes before driving into a turn lane, crossed the median, hit a concrete curb, spun, flipped, and hit some trees. Otero was thrown from the car and was later pronounced dead at Englewood Community Hospital.
