There’s a public hearing scheduled for tomorrow in North Port about an ordinance that would make things a bit easier for developers.
The ordinance would allow impact fees to be paid on a deferred basis rather than all at once, when a certificate of occupancy is issued.
The ordinance was crafted over the summer at the request of a Michigan-based company looking to build a Hilton on US-41 near Sumter Blvd. If it goes through, it would be just the first hotel in North Port built since 1973.
The 100 room hotel would generate around $115,000 in impact fees.
