The Gingerbread Land contest is underway in North Port. The annual event involves community members, businesses, organizations and families making gingerbread houses. The finished products are on display on the 2nd floor of North Port City Hall, where the public can see them and vote for their favorite. The deadline to deliver the gingerbread houses to City Hall is tomorrow at 5 p.m. The winners in various categories will be announced during the Tree Lighting and Poinsettia Festival on Friday, starting at 8:15 p.m. Details on contest entries can be found at cityofnorthport.com.
