The North Port City commission today is set to vote on whether to sell eight surplus police vehicles for $6,000 each to the Sarasota School Police Department.
Five of the six cars are either 2013 or 2014 Ford Interceptor sedans, with between 52,000 and 74,000 miles on them. The sixth is a 2011 Ford Taurus sedan with 71,600 miles.
The vehicles would otherwise be disposed of via a surplus auction.
