There’s a special meeting set for today, in which the city commissioners of North Port will discuss a planned widening of Price Boulevard. The ciy wants to widen the road from two to four lanes from just east of Sumter to just west of Toledo Blade boulevards. The plan would also include a raised 19.5 foot median, a pair of 5-foot sidewalks, curb, gutter, and two bike lanes. The city commission has yet to approve the design of the road widening. The project is scheduled for completion by October 2017, and the project would not likely be put out to bid until the summer of 2018.
