North Port city commissioners later today will vote on whether or not to award a contract to build the Aquatic Center at Butler Park.
The low bidder, a Fort Lauderdale-based contractor, came in with a bid just shy of $10 million.
Once ground is broken adjacent to the Morgan Community Center, it will likely take two years to build.
Preliminary designs have a competition swimming pool, leisure pool, and slides.
