CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2024) – National Public Lands Day is Sept. 28, 2024. National Public Lands Day offers people a chance to connect with their communities and establish deep, meaningful connections with nature.
Charlotte County Community Services Parks and Natural Resources Division helps to protect, restore, and conserve the environmental resources of Charlotte County, such as the valuable ecosystems, along with plant and animal species. Parks and Natural Resources oversees the development and implementation of county-wide listed species conservation plans. The Parks and Natural Resources Division is tasked to actively manage Charlotte County’s environmental lands. Charlotte County has been acquiringenvironmentally sensitive lands since the mid-1990s, through conservation easements, direct purchases, grant funds, and the voter approved Conservation Charlotte program.
In the spirit of National Public Lands Day, Charlotte County Parks & Natural Resources challenges community members to embrace the beauty of Charlotte County’s parks and preserves. Whether you’re hiking, kayaking, or simply enjoying the serenity of nature, there’s no better time to Get Up, Get Out and Get Active.
