A Charlotte County man was seriously injured when he lost control of his motorcycle. The Florida Highway Patrol says it happened Friday morning on U.S. 17, about a half mile from Jeffrey Mills’ home east of Punta Gorda. Troopers say Mills lost control of his bike after driving onto the gas median. It overturned and Mills wound up on the highway. He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. Miller is 65. He was not wearing a helmet. The FHP is investigating and charges are pending.
