The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 32 year old Jason Dorris of Port Charlotte was killed on Sunday afternoon while riding his Harley on Starlite Lane in Port Charlotte. Police say Dorris was riding north on Starlite approaching the intersection of Midway Boulevard when he veered off the road and hit a tree. He was thrown from the bike. It all happened around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Dorris was not wearing a helmet. The Port Charlotte man was pronounced dead at Bayfront Health.
