A Kentucky mother is behind bars tonight, accused of a crime that didn’t involve her own hands. Carleena Webb, 33, faces a first-degree criminal abuse charge after police say she watched her husband slap and cover the face of their 3-month-old daughter on a live home camera feed. Instead of rushing home or calling 911, she went back to work and left the baby with him. She also didn’t seek medical care for the infant.
Deputies say the footage came from out-of-state family members who had access to the same camera system. The video reportedly shows Shaun Webb, 36, striking the infant and covering her face for multiple 10-to-19-second intervals. He later told investigators that the baby’s crying “triggers me” and compared children to dogs, saying they need training and boundaries. Shaun Webb now faces 10 counts of first-degree criminal child abuse.
