A popular science program is in jeopardy after the governor vetoed $3 million for the project. The Mote Marine Laboratory had taken off since 2013 when new classrooms and new professors were added. Leaders at Mote and University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee will now determine what the future will be as students have already enrolled for the program next year. Scott says the school has sufficient money without the $3 million. The school already receives $20 million. STEM studies are critical for the future of the state, so said Scott just a few years ago.
