More trucks are on the way to help pick up debris across Sarasota County. Scott Montgomery, the Emergency Management Sections Chief for Sarasota County told ABC-7 he empathizes with residents who have an expected pickup deadline of nearly two months away. He said that his own house is scheduled for December 4, and is urging people to just be patient. But some people, especially in The Meadows community, have decided to take matters in their own hands. That community’s operations manager said debris on those private roads is causing grass to die, and people to worry, because they “want to get back to normal.” Those private roads are near the bottom of the county’s priority list. You can find an update on when your debris will be picked up on the website, SCGov.net – where there are interactive maps.
