SARASOTA, FL — On Monday, residents and businesses in Sarasota will take a moment to honor the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.

Here is what will be open or closed.

City of Sarasota Solid Waste Department: Trash and recycling collection services won’t be interrupted Monday.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Open Monday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lido Pool: Closed Monday.

Nature Trails at Bobby Jones Golf Club: Located at 1000 Circus Blvd. The trails will be open regular hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Monday.

Payne Park Tennis Center: Open Monday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Open Monday, 6 to 10 a.m.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: The box office will be open regular hours Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sarasota County Area Transit: SCAT bus services, SCATPlus, OnDemand by Sarasota County and the Siesta Key Breeze will operate during normal hours on Monday. The administrative office will be closed.

Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources: All library branch locations and historical resources will be closed Monday.

Sarasota County Recreation Centers: All recreation centers will be closed Monday.

Sarasota County Public Schools: Schools are closed Monday and reopen Tuesday.

Sarasota County government offices: All government offices will be closed Friday.

Sarasota Emergency Rental Assistance Program Call Center: Closed Monday.

Sarasota County Solid Waste Collections: There are no changes to garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup on Monday.

County Chemical Collection Centers: Closed Monday.

Central County Landfill: Open normal hours on Monday. Administrative offices will be closed.

Citizen Convenience Center: Open Monday.

Re-Uz-It Shop: Closed Monday.

Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range: Closed Monday.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. Charlotte County Government offices and facilities will follow these schedules on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

Charlotte County government business offices, including Charlotte County Administration Center – Closed.

Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau Office – Closed. Visitors with questions on things to do can visit www.PureFlorida.com.

The Utilities Department (water & sewer) customer service will be closed. You can still pay your bill using electronic billing, which can be found at www.CharlotteCountyFL.gov (under the Departments menu click the Utilities link). You can also pay your bill by phone at 941-764-4300. Standby staff will be on call for utility emergencies at 941-764-4300.

Garbage collection – Curbside collection will occur as scheduled.
Transfer stations (both West Charlotte and Mid-County) – Closed.
Zemel Road Landfill – Open.
Placida West Boat Ramp residential temporary drop-off for storm debris – Closed.

Community Services Administration Offices – Closed.
Charlotte County Libraries and History Services Offices – Closed.
