The sheriff’s office is asking for help finding a man who showed signs of wanting to harm himself. Richard Champion, 62, was discharged from the Manatee Memorial Hospital on Sunday and later gave worrying signs to family members. He left his home on 10th Avenue E in Palmetto around 10pm that night. He was barefoot and in pajamas. He hasn’t been seen since and has not answered numerous attempts to call his cellphone. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call 941-747-3011.
