A Florida Amber Alert that had the entire state on edge Monday ended with a 13-year-old girl safe and her alleged abductor in custody. Juliet Ariose was reported missing from Ocala, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office quickly issued an Amber Alert. The suspect, 45-year-old Jason Castillo, was spotted by deputies and a pursuit began on U.S. Highway 441.
The chase took a dangerous turn when Castillo reportedly fired shots at law enforcement. Deputies responded with a PIT maneuver, forcing the suspect’s vehicle to stop. Castillo was shot during the exchange and transported to a hospital. His condition has not been released. The girl was found unharmed and has been reunited with her family. The investigation remains active.
