A missing Charlotte County boater has been rescued in Monroe County. 41-year old Benjamin Hartman left from Charlotte Harbor last month, heading to Key West, then to St Augustine. His last known location was in the Dry Tortugas, where he called family to report he was having boat trouble. His mother reported him missing to the Coast Guard on March 10, and to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on March 14. Hartman was finally rescued from a sandbar near the Everglades over the weekend.
