Two West Michigan police chiefs are among 10 finalists to be the next police chief in Punta Gorda. M-Live reports Grand Rapids Police Department Chief David Rahinsky and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley will interview for the job in November. Hadley has been in Kalamazoo since 2008, while Rahinsky has served as the Grand Rapids chief since 2014. Rahinsky served in multiple departments in Florida, including the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He received degrees from Florida State University and Florida Atlantic University. Hadley obtained a degree in criminal justice from Edison Community College in Fort Myers, Florida, and was a patrol officer in the Cape Coral Police Department.
