Mezzetta has recalled a single lot of its Golden Greek Peperoncini Medium Heat in 32-ounce jars after a woman posted a TikTok video saying she found a dead baby mouse inside her jar. The company said it became aware of the video, contacted her, and launched an investigation that included a review of production, sanitation, and food safety records. The FDA has posted the recall notice, and Mezzetta says it has contacted grocers to remove the affected product from shelves.
The recall is narrow. Only 32-ounce jars with SKU 10106328 and lot code 720106 are included. No other Mezzetta products are affected, and the company says there have been no reports of illness or injury as of Monday. If your jar matches those numbers, don’t eat the peppers.
