March 2018 was the busiest month in the history of the Punta Gorda Airport, according to the Charlotte County Airport Authority.
Last month saw a more than 36% increase in commercial passenger traffic over the past year.
In all, just shy of 193,000 Allegiant passengers came through Punta Gorda- more than 50,000 people ahead of the previous record for a single month. More than 1,200 Allegiant planes came in and out of Charlotte County last month.
Through the first quarter of the year, the airport has seen just shy of 456,000 passengers- a nearly 28% increase from the same 3-month period last year.
