It’s official- both Manatee and Sarasota Counties have officially recovered- and then some- in the way of unemployment after the Great Recession. New data from the Florida Chamber of Commerce showed 31 Florida counties have regained all the jobs lost -or even added- since 2007. Manatee County has 21,561 more jobs now than in 2007 when the economy crashed, Sarasota County about 12,600 more. All Southwest Florida counties, with the exception of Charlotte County, increased their number of jobs from 2007 to the end of 2016.
