Charlotte County Commissioners have voted to protect manatees. The Englewood Sun reports that the manatee protection plan will set guidelines for the construction of boat slips, new marinas or marina expansion and dry boat storage facilities. The plan must still be okayed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
