A leisurely motorcycle ride changed quickly Sunday for an off-duty Manatee County Sheriff’s deputy. Deputy Willie Finklea was on his motorcycle when he noticed a vehicle was on fire with two people inside on Moccasin Wallow Road. The couple was trapped inside because the electronic system of the car was not working. Deputy Finklea pulled over and 911 was called. Finklea shot out one of the windows and then got into the car and was able to open of the doors and get the female passenger out. The male occupant was able to crawl out to safety and there were no injuries.
