Manatee County Schools are looking to hire as many as 20 bus drivers before the start of the new school year. Drivers need to pass a background check, have five years of driving experience and a safe driving record. The district is hoping to avoid a driver shortage in the new year. A shortage means kids are late getting dropped off- the district has launched an app that will allow parents to track their child’s bus in real time to know exactly when they’re getting home.
