Manatee County is looking for volunteers to be on stand-by this hurricane season. Through a partnership with the American Red Cross of Southwest Florida, Manatee County’s Emergency Management Division will host two classes next month for volunteers interested in helping staff hurricane evacuation shelters. After completing the training, volunteers will be able to assist in selecting, opening, organizing, operating and closing a shelter. The two free courses will be offered June 12 and 14, at Manatee County Public Safety Center, 2101, 47th Terrace East, Bradenton.
