A man who allegedly stole a half-million dollar boat eight years ago in Charlotte County has finally been arrested.
Police say 50-year old Geovani Ramirez was arrested in Texas last month and extradited back to Punta Gorda. He allegedly stole a 48-foot Sea Ray back in June of 2010 and sailed away to Cuba. He and his passenger, Nelson Hernandez, were arrested by Cuban officials.
Punta Gorda Police say as of now, they don’t know what happened to the men over the past eight years, how they got back to the States, or why they were arrested in Texas.
