A man was killed this morning on I-75 South in Venice. Florida Highway Patrol says a U-Haul truck was driving southbound near milemarker 190 around 10:30am when the passenger noticed the door was not shut all the way. The passenger opened the door to try to shut it and either wind or pressure caused the door to swing open.
The man fell out of the U-Haul while trying to grab the handle and was run over by several cars. He died at the scene.
