Port Charlotte – Florida
A man has died after catching fire in the parking lot of a Port Charlotte shopping center on Tuesday, as reported by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency responders initially requested a helicopter to airlift the man to a hospital. However, as the helicopter arrived, the man went into cardiac arrest.
Due to space limitations in the helicopter that prevented effective CPR, the decision was made to transport him to the hospital by ambulance instead.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, along with the state fire marshal, is leading the investigation.
