The man convicted in a September 2017 murder in North Port has been sentenced to 30 years behind bars.
26-year old Marquis Harris heard his sentence yesterday.

Police say Harris got into an argument with 22-year old Jaqavies Rivers inside of a home in the 2400 block of Roxbury Circle. The argument escalated, and Harris pistol-whipped the younger man before shooting him in the head.

A second man, the homeowner, 42-year old Michael Hendricks, was also charged with accessory to second degree murder.
