Police have arrested a Punta Gorda man in connection with a March burglary at the Historic Train Depot. Officials say William Michael Legrand pawned some stolen items from the Depot.
Back on March 11th, police were called to the Taylor Road site and found the door had been pried open and multiple show cases containing jewelry and other items were gone. Detectives also found that Legrand tried to give his landlord multiple pieces of jewelry in exchange for rent.
When they searched his home, police found a duffle bag containing two large jewelry containers that matched the description of what was stolen. He’s now charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, and Dealing in stolen property.
