A man was arrested today after an investigation determined he shot his aunt’s boyfriend during an argument. It happened near 7th Street Southwest and Ivan Avenue around 3 p.m on Christmas day. Deputies said 30-year-old Ira Carey began walking away from his girlfriend’s home after the two of them got into an argument.
While Carey was walking, deputies said Carey’s girlfriend’s nephew, Ondre Carter, then pulled up in a car next to Carey, got out of the car, and confronted him. During the argument, deputies said Carter pulled a gun and began firing it multiple times, hitting Carey once in the groin . He was treated for non life threatening injuries.
