A major construction project on I-75 in Charlotte County is set to begin later this year after funding was finally approved. Right now, there’s a 4-mile stretch of I-75 from Jones Loop Road to U.S. 17 that is four lanes. That is the only four-lane section of I-75 anywhere between Naples and the Georgia state line. That stretch will be expanded to six lanes starting later this year at a price tag of nearly $29M.
