Gulf Gate Elementary School in Sarasota was placed on limited lockdown earlier today due to police activity in the area. The school is located S Lockwood Ridge Road. It’s unknown what police activity was going on in the area, though an unofficial source says law enforcement was chasing a suspect. The limited lockdown began at 10:40am and ended at 11:30am. The district says there was no danger or threat to the campus. Parents were notified via the ConnectEd system.
