Gas prices across the area are flat with prices a year ago, with AAA predicting they will soon drop below year-ago levels. The auto club is forecasting a 5 to 10 cent drop in gas prices after a recent drop in oil prices. The average price for gasoline in Florida dropped for the ninth straight day Monday- prices have dropped about 4.5 cents since June 3. Locally, we’re sitting around $2.30 for a gallon of regular unleaded, only a penny or so above the area average in 2016.
