A local doctor was killed Friday night in a boating crash in Fort Myers.Investigators believe the man, identified as 51-year-old Omar Benitez, was ejected from his boat when he crashed into mangroves on Hendry Creek near Estero Bay. He was found unconscious in cardiac arrest, according to the FWC. Benitez was transported to HealthPark Medical Center where he later died.
